Not that I was dying to go to Gaza but the entire brigade left, and only our company is left to guard the base. Why? Because our company commander is ill and is on home leave, so they prefered us to stay for guard duty.

This thread should be renamed to "siro won't go to disengage".

That's how it looks like, unless for some reason our last standing company (my company) will also be called in.

From what I saw on TV, the evacuation is going ok and is quite efficient and fast. I bet 99% will be over by the half of next week, if not tommorrow.

On a brighter note - a good chance for home leave this friday saturday, since we're not disengaging or anything.


I'm just annoyed cause we were told we're about to leave 'in hours time' 5 times already, and we went down with all our bags packed and each time it was aborted. now we're the only company left. :/

Speaking of laundry - soldiers usually don't do laundry, but take enough until their closest home leave, which in the IDF is usually between 2 and 4 weeks.

Anyways, we were told to prepare to spend 6 weeks in a worst case scenario, so I have a HUGE bag. And no, I don't intend to do laundry in the public bathroom.
