OK, here's what you do. Take your icon, make a larger version that can be displayed on a notebook full screen. When you come to the door, as you ask the occupants to please vacate their premises, you show them the icon. The hardcore ones, who would be most likely to refuse to leave will also be the most likely to be offended by your little Betty- Boopsie. When they lunge at the offending picture you step back. You let them chase you into your Hummer, or whatever type of vehicle you guys drive, then you jump out the other side as your buddies close the doors. Then you rap twice on the hood and the driver takes off for the resettlement area.
I'd LOVE to see Siro's avatar help solve the mideast peace problem.

Does Gaza get a sea breeze at this time of year, because I would have to think Sharon was not too bright picking the hottest time of summer to evacuate the settlements. No less, best of luck with everything during the 'grace period' and after it.

Siro, stay safe. Trust in yourself and trust your training. This will make it all go fine if things should go bad. So, what ever happens, you should be OK, so that's good. Be the nice guy but don't be the sucker.
And if you need any help, I can arrive in 30 minutes, in my Susie Q, coming to get you! I mean getting the bad guys. Stay sharp.

Stay safe Siro. As Pekka said, trust in your training and remember the difficult time it must be for them but that in the end it is for the best.

Not that I was dying to go to Gaza but the entire brigade left, and only our company is left to guard the base. Why? Because our company commander is ill and is on home leave, so they prefered us to stay for guard duty.
This thread should be renamed to "siro won't go to disengage".
That's how it looks like, unless for some reason our last standing company (my company) will also be called in.
From what I saw on TV, the evacuation is going ok and is quite efficient and fast. I bet 99% will be over by the half of next week, if not tommorrow.
On a brighter note - a good chance for home leave this friday saturday, since we're not disengaging or anything.
I'm just annoyed cause we were told we're about to leave 'in hours time' 5 times already, and we went down with all our bags packed and each time it was aborted. now we're the only company left. :/
Speaking of laundry - soldiers usually don't do laundry, but take enough until their closest home leave, which in the IDF is usually between 2 and 4 weeks.
Anyways, we were told to prepare to spend 6 weeks in a worst case scenario, so I have a HUGE bag. And no, I don't intend to do laundry in the public bathroom.
