Figure out how much smoking costs you each year. Plan to buy yourself something nice with that money. When you feel weak, think about that thing and how much you want it.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

You can try writing this whole thing down and paste it on a wall.

Write something like "Days after quitting smoking" in big red letters on a sheet of cardboard and put it up. Each day you don't smoke make a mark in pencil on the sheet. However, erase the marks if you start smoking.

You can even combine this with che's idea. Put "Each mark is worth $x!" at the bottom.

This should give you an incentive to continue and a sense of accomplishment.

Good suggestions, they might help with the motivation side of it.

The biggest obstacle of all though is the psychological addiction, i.e. all the little situations during the day that you associate with smoking. Eating, having a cup of coffee, reading the paper, placing a phone call, answering a phone call, finishing something, starting something, being halfway through something...

Instead of saving for something really nice, buy something really nice now so-that you can't afford smoking.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Actually, you are supposed to be able to at least partially compensate for the lack of smokes with either food, or sex.

                          Go find yourself a nymphomaniac.
