Football is a gateway sport to other youth activities such as street racing, heavy drinking, and gangs.

Not That its important but i figure i would do an update since it was mentioned that i would understand about sports and such. My son is out for the season. He was doing well but has suffered an injury to the foot he had surgery on in march. He had an achilles tendon lengthening in march and has now managed to tear that repair and tear two tendons on the side of his foot. If the tears are deemed bad enough he will have to undergo another surgery to repair all three Oh well such is life

Sad to read that, but there is though much more to life than sports - hope he figures that out.

Hate to hear that, Mrs. Tubes, but at least if he plays his injury up right, he can get hoards of girls swarming all over him. And yes, I realize that's exactly what a mother likes to hear.

There is nothing wrong with making a child appreciate a physical regimen, but I draw the line between PE and actual varsity sports. If he doesn't want to participate, let alone compete for, a spot on a JV/Varsity team don't force him.

If her son get those hoards of girls - Mrs. Tuberski can become a GILF, at least for Mr. Tuberski.

BTW - I'm slightly over an inch shorter than you, and used to play volleyball until a really bad shoulder injury. 1.8 meters.

It sounds like her ex is trying to live vicariously through his son. I wasn't there though so maybe the kid really was being whiny or the dad is trying to teach him a lesson about finishing what he started.

Actually its both oredin. The ex thought it would be good for my son to have the commraderie of a team, he , the ex, played but didnt get any where, he wanted to teach him to finish what he started and once my kiddo found out how hard it was he whined. I allowed the ex to take care of the problem and when i did the kid hurts him self and now needs surgery. Where as a parent do you draw the line before your kid gets seriously hurt.
@ shawnmcc I played volleyball But i wanted to play. I like you suffered a injury in my last year when a girl purposly went over the net line and landed on my ankle. I still play but not for team. My daughter plays now and she loves it but i will not allow her to be hurt.
                              Edit
Had to have tuber tell me about the gilf if that is what it means it better not happen any freaking time soon Ill kill em

I have been dancing since I was six and is probalbly above average (practice helps ), but I have seen parents go crazy because their children wasn't considered good enough to participate in special events.

5'11'' is that something like 1.77 meters ? That is close to my preferred high of a dance partner
                                5'11 is 1.80 metres
