Yeah, I was shocked that Atlanta would be able to turn an unhappy Heatley into Hossa! And add De Vries, who isn't as good as he used to be, but can be a 5th defender... or maybe his old coach can put him back together.

de Vries is a decent defenseman that Atlanta didn't have before the trade - he'll definitely get playing time. Heatley had (hopefully still has) great potential, but has been sliding badly since the accident. Plus, he suffered a really bad injury playing in Europe last season. Hossa has been consistently good, had a great year in Europe, and looked amazing in the last world championships. Right now, Hossa is the better of the two players.Originally posted by Sava
