Let the good times roll -- 146,000 new jobs added

The job total looks somewhat impressive. But the real question are the types of jobs seeing gains. After all, your new McDonald's worker sure as hell isn't going to make as much as, say, an experienced construction worker or computer programmer.

1.2% is "much more?"
Compare to Italy. That's "much more."I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

DanS provided the rule of thumb of 150,000 new jobs a month to absorb the increase of the workforce. This means that the quarter's increase is nice, but nothing exceptional."I have been reading up on the universe and have come to the conclusion that the universe is a good thing." -- Dissident

Together with double deficits (current account and budget) approaching 5% of GDP you'd think that even DanS would have some doubts in the back of his mind...12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

Have you seen the show "30 days", with the guy who did Supersize Me?
Episode 1 was living 30 days on Minimum Wage. Pretty amazing.
Episode 2 was an overweight guy using lots of "supplements" and working out hardcore for 30 days.
Episode 3 was a white hardcore Christian hick living as a Muslim in a Muslim community for 30 days.
Episode 4 was a homophobic straight hick living on Castro Street with a gay roommate for 30 days."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

to be fair, its not all the feds fault - if the idiot bush hadnt raised the twi deficits to 5% of GDP and done all of his ridiculous tax cuts and pork barrel spending, we wouldnt have a problem with a squeezed fed, who policies have less and less of an effect for every extra dollar that bush spends.
didnt anyone tell him that he can veto?"Everything for the State, nothing against the State, nothing outside the State" - Benito Mussolini
