MADRID, July 21 (Reuters) - Real Madrid have reached a €24 million ($29.15 million) deal to sign striker Robinho from Brazilian club Santos, Spanish state radio said on Thursday.

The radio quoted 'reliable Real Madrid sources' as saying that Robinho was now a Real Madrid player.

But a Real Madrid spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment and Robinho's agent Wagner Ribeiro denied the report.

He said no deal had been done yet but told Reuters he was prepared to take the matter to FIFA if no agreement was reached.

I can imagine Michael Owen isn't too pleased about this. He played well enough to earn a starting position, but he likely won't be passing Ronaldo on the depth chart. I can see the English clubs pressing now to get Owen from Real.

Chelsea may indeed want him, but they have to get rid of some of their other strikers. Now they got Crespo, Gudjohnson, and Drogba in the striker role. Though I guess Gudjohnson could play in the Wing Forward role.

Chelsea need to decide whether they want a five man midfield or two strikers.

The former means your striker (Drogba) will score less goals, the latter means your midfield needs to play well.

One for at home and one for away games maybe..

We've yet to see the best of Drogba at Chelsea. Every time i see Gudjohnson score he has it on a plate.

I joined last year and was too lazy to make a single transfer!

Can't we have a seperate slackers league?

I'm going to join, but I'm not in work until Monday night (and picking a Fantasy Football team is a work time job in my book).

Does anyone fancy a flutter on it? It needn't be everyone, just who finishes higher of the the ones in the bet?

To reply to Maq... yes, Gudjohnson makes sure he's in the right position and puts it away. Last season, Drogba missed a ton of goals when he was the in the right position and the ball was sent to him.

And with Crespo coming back in... well, Drogba will have fewer chances.
