        Not that expensive.

You can get business broadband here with that kind of money.

            Down/Up: 1.5M/128k
            ADSL infrastructure+ISP: ~20€

            Oh, and obviously, unlimited

Hey, those prices are quite good, it seems!

8 Kilobytes / second , unlimited data transfer , no time limits , the company provides the router themselves at no extra charge , 30 $ per month .

This is great , considering that I live in India .

$29.95/mo (down to $19.95 if you use/pay for the right phone services), 1.5mbps, unlimited, 256k upload. Some web space and email space, gigabytes, not used so not sure how many.

Nice cheap USA dsl ... (Socialist internet someday ... someday ... )

That's a bit of an urban legend I guess. First off, it's not 1024/512 but 1024/128; not that the upload speed would make much of a difference, though. And second, the 15€/month does not include the DSL addition to the phone line subscription either. While I agree, that it is somewhat cheaper in Germany, it's not in the degree you describe.

Maybe, but my ISP has a very leading and innovative nature. Instead of being the price-fighter, like any other ISP over here, they aim for product leadership to acquire and maintain clientele

Zop: I'd rather have all 1.5 Mpbs all the time than laggy 1.5Mbps for half the time for 10 dollars less.

That's cheap internet you people get, I'm paying 67€/month for a 1.5/512, but at least there's no usage limit and I'm not required to have some expensive phone line subscription
For some time there has been a lot of talk about the high prices, but the company who owns all the lines don't want to make it cheaper for other ISPs to rent it. Now they have finally gotten some official people to take a look at the situation, which hopefully will get the prices down, but because these guys have other matters* to attend they wont look at this for at least a year

                        * At the moment 'power companies' (?) all around DK has started to get into the Internet bussiness. These guys jobs are AFAIK to check it out if they should be stopped or not. In about 3-4 months (if everything goes as planned) this will make it possible for me to get a 2.3/2.3 Internet connection by them for almost the same price
This space is empty... or is it?
