Yeah I know. I've quit a few times already and started back because of stress. This time it's going to be harder than ever. I can feel it. Maybe I'm not ready, but I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow.

I'm interested, but you might want to find out how many other people are also interested before putting in all the work.

I think this time it's a thing with my fingers. After I'm done with my cig I mess around with my fingers. I don't think I'm addicted to nicotine that bad. I've just restarted smoking again 4 months ago.

I'm trying to quit today. It's hard. I haven't even been awake for an hour and I almost gave up already.

I'm always trying to quit. I want to quit this year. 2006 will be no-cigs year for me. That's the plan.

But a couple of nights ago I forgot to buy me cigs when I came home from work. I'm used to smoke a cig before I go to sleep. As a consequence, there I was at midnight driving to a gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

When you feel the craving for a cigarette, smoke pot instead. It'll satisfy the need to smoke, you'll get high, and pot isn't addictive so it's easy to quit when you want to.

Also: lollipops, toothpicks, anything to play with and suck/chew on/move around your mouth.

I was on the patch for a while. The first stage was a patch that released twice the nicotine I got from the cigs that I was smoking

They kept me from smoking for a while, but when I went out drinking I started smoking again... so I was getting three times the nicotine I once did

Patches give you very very weird and vivid dreams.... like real life and incredibly lucid. I was dreaming that I was telepathically watching the cricket in the loungeroom from my bedroom, whilst telepathically conversing with my flatmate, who was in his bedroom, about the cricket. VERY weird. Another one was when I answered the front door from my bedroom in the middle of the night and the lady at the door introduced herself as an easter egg saleswoman. At that point I was filled with a sensation of such abject terror that I woke suddenly with a jolt in my heart as powerful as if I'd been revived by a defibrulator (sp?). I don't know why my subconscious found the idea of lady selling easter eggs so terrifying... but I certainly had trouble getting back to sleep.

My friend tried an interesting method. He smoked oregano and basil. It didn't work.

Don't take ajbera's advice - you'll be smoking 20+ reefers a day if you try and substitute them for cigarettes... which can't be good.

If you're like me you will just start up again when stress returns. I'm going to deal with my stress in healthier ways now.
