    Yup, Britain and Canada were the two other big surprises for me.

    I'm fairly surprised at France's niceness toward the US (we aren't caricatural compared to the rest of Europe), and I'm completely baffled by Pakistan's very positive stance toward China.

        Could be, but the pro-Chinese propaganda in Pakistan must be really strong, or there must really be positive feelings. I mean, most Pakistanis expect China to stand up and stop a genocide occuring outside of its borders...

          You'd probably be better paid working for a private security firm. I know a South African guy who does this for a few months of the year - earns about GBP£900 a week i think?

                They haven't exactly shown outward humanism either. They have very little expansionistic policy for the time being, and none of this seems to be steered by a kind of "yellow man's burden"

                  Take a look at the list you posted. It's bouncing back in 9 countries. Going down in 4 countries.
                  I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter.                     DanS: I don't think it indicates any heavy trend. The surge of antiamericanism could have been only that: a surge. If the unpopularity had been only short term, the popularity levels would be much closer to the 2002 levels now. This poll seems to indicate that much of the antiamericanism your splendid little war created is not merely conjunctural, but that quite some of it is deeply rooted.

                    It'll take years of intelligent effort to restore your image to the former levels.
