EDIT: I also want to ask why my profile is not recording any of the posts I have made?

It's called the double-login dance. They are humoring you by acting as if you're a login of another user who already has an older username.

It's the DL dance. Either spambots, spammers, lost n00bs, or people getting around a banning register and immediately post in the OT. It's a hazing ritual meant to signify our dominance over new, unfamiliar people and our distrust and loathing of them until they've proven themselves.

        I would write:

"Have a hell of a time,

don't try to kill each other

and there's no god, look at us:

        we're vanished,

        that settles it."

OT posts don't count towards your post count. It's an anti-spamming measure enacted a long time ago to curb abuse of the ranking system.

While the ' other games' section still counts, you can't take those post counts very seriously. I see more spamming over there than in the OT

Ahh, I didnt realize the significance of the dance. I made this account a long time ago, was suprised that i remembered my login when I decided to post. I'm an avid civ player, and thought this might be a good place to get some interesting answers to my question. It's for a project I'm working on. I hope this is an appropriate topic for this forum.

Forum Games are legally sanctioned. Though, as I haven't participated in any of them, I cannot comment on their spamminess.

I guess the pages are standard letter size and only on one side And no microprint!

The idea of recording the foundation of U.S. government is interesting. I would also certainly rank it as a significant human achievment. I would tend to choose something more representative of all mankind.
                    Maybe some sort of timeline.

But I do sort of see the US constitution as being representative of all mankind (not necessarily the US govenment, but the ideal with which it was formed). I mean its says so right in the document "We hold these truths to be self evident. That ALL men are created equal."

If all that is left of mankind is 10 pieces of paper, then I would hope that these ideals somehow survive.

It would be a good place if the DL dance wasn't interfering that what I mean by it gets old.

I suppose I should answer your question.

I agree with Donegeal that the US Constitution would be idea in its brevity, simplicity, and ability to evolve over time. The UN Charter might have worked, but that's a bureaucratic mess.

This is a realy active forum!

It suprises me that you guys are most interested in recording achievments in social organization. What about physics and mathematics? To me they represent some of mans greatest legacies.

Knowledge of physical sciences can be more readily rediscovered, IMO than abstract, profound philosophical ideas such as liberty and equality.

By the time the American Revolution erupted, monarchical government based on divine right of kings was a 1,700 year tradition (since replacement of Roman republic with Roman empire).

I am shocked no one has mentioned poetry. Some of the better ones need not necessarily be long, so you can preserve some of the most beautiful constructs of humanity in a limited amount of space.

And thanks for answering my question.
