1 Sith: Yeah, the "Noooooooo!" was very stupid, but not stupid enough to take away from that gut wrenching feeling you get from Anakins betrayal and "Order 66".

2 New Hope: I gotta pull for the original here. Without it, we have nothing.

3 Empire: Great character development, especially for Vader. And, at the time, the battle for Hoth was the hands down best and most dramatic.

4 Jedi: Completes the cycle for Vader/Anakin. The culmination of all the movies.

5 Clones: Actually not that bad since I have seen Sith. It lead to Sith very nicely. Okay plot. Oh, and Padme in that skin tight white outfit. Looked like she was nipping when her and Anakin left Tatowien for Geonosis.

6 Phantom: Although the worst of the SW flicks, I still get chills when I hear "Duel of the Fates".

I've seen some snatches of it about 8 times already.

Mostly because I play the funny parts over and over." YOU FOOL! I have been TRAINED in your arts by COUNT DOOKU!" will never fail to amuse me.

I laugh just at the name Dooku by itself -- no one with that name could be taken seriously.

And it seemed like it was just tacked on to ANH, which is probably was since Lucas didn't think they'd make another one.

The end of ESB was far better.

NO! A space battle's awesomeness has NOTHING to do with how many ships there are, or how big they are, or how good the effects are. It's about how it's presented.

The battle at the beginning of ROTS had thousands of gigantic ships, but it sucked. It wasn't suspenseful or interesting at all. The battle of Endor, even the fifth time I see it, makes me think OMFG this is gonna be awesome every time the Rebel fleet screams out of hyperspace.

And Yavin was presented L.A.M.E. And yes, the number of ships do have something to do with things. There is a rebellion and the architects of the Death Star don't figuring into it that small fighters will attack the structure? WTF? I'd expect a ton of TIE Fighters to protect the structure.

And it was started and ended in a blink of an eye. Way too quick.

Endor is far better, especially because you get the feeling it goes on for a long time (since it is ongoing while Luke, Han, and Leia try to break into the Death Star and then during the big battle).

FWIW, I liked the battle at the beginning of ROTS. A lot of crap going on, hardly knowing what was going on (as a massive battle over the capital would be).

Of course Endor is far better. It's the big culminating battle where the fleets meet in their entirety. But Yavin is awesome. It is the original victory against incredible odds. Throughout the whole scene, you get the sense that they really have no chance of pulling it off, which makes it all the more awesome when they do. Sure, it's cheesy. But most of the series is.

You've got to be ****ing kidding me. That battle is way better than anything in the PT. It ROCKS. There's actually some amount of suspense.

                      I'm sorry, you're clueless ()

The battle was CRAP. It was some explosions and ships flying right next to each other. It was boring. There was no point.

The initial battle scene seemed to have been modeled after movies like "Master and Commander", the ships pounding each other with broadsies at point-blank range.

I finally managed to see ROTS. Nice of the management to close the old thread before I got a chance to see the film and post my opinion. Overall a fairly good picture, it's short comings being compensated by lavish special effects. They did a better job of portraying Anakin's "turning to the dark side" than I had expected ( which isn't saying much ), but a better writer could have done a better job. At the end I wondered how a shrewd man like Palpitine could be stupid enough to tell Anakin that he had killed his own wife. It would have been better to blame the Jedi. By making Anakin feel guilty he risked stirring resentment.

Oh come off it... what you didn't think Luke would hit the spot which was "just like Begger's Canyon back home"?

Well the whole Seperatists trying to kidnapp the Chancellor and attacking the capital may have been some 'point'. What would you have liked to have seen? Someone who we just find out was close to Anakin and Obi-Wan die all of a sudden?

you get the sense that they really have no chance of pulling it off, which makes it all the more awesome when they do.

Didja really think they weren't going to pull it off? Especially when they catch the Death Star by surprise because they have an obvious weakness that they didn't design it to deal with small ships, even though that is all the Rebels have? It would have been nice to ACTUALLY see overwhelming odds, like 50 TIE fighters coming out and obliterating the Rebels in seconds before, somehow, Luke pulls it out.
