Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Zelda. Hopefully a real remake of Star Fox (my favorite rail shooter of all time). Mario. SSB. Perhaps a fourth Rogue Squadron installment (though 3 sucked balls).
Plus the ability to play NES, SNES, and N64 games. My old NES is only works some of the time, now, and my N64 has issues too
I realize that it is non gameplay (ie, replays or whatever), but *drool*

Those PGR3 shots wouldnt look out of place in Forza, thats not to say theyre not good, but hardly anything i havent seen before. Certainly i havent seen the same leaps from PS1/Saturn/N64 to PS2/Xbox/DC/GC yet, graphics-wise.

It's one of the first screenshots they've taken with the real hardware (Xenos/R500 GPU, tri-core 3.2GHz CPU) since getting the real kits to replace the PowerMac.
They've said since it's basically a straight port of their work from the alpha kits (PowerMacs), it has a long way to go for what they can optimize for.
They've emphasized quite clearly those pictures were taken in real-time at that resolution, in replay mode (similar to the replay mode in PGR/PGR2). It's the same car models used in the replay and in the gameplay, the only difference is the cinematic camera angles.

As it happens, Intel's was not the only alternative chip design that Apple had explored for the Mac. An executive close to Sony said that last year Mr. Jobs met in California with both Nobuyuki Idei, then the chairman and chief executive of the Japanese consumer electronics firm, and with Kenichi Kutaragi, the creator of the Sony PlayStation.
Mr. Kutaragi tried to interest Mr. Jobs in adopting the Cell chip, which is being developed by I.B.M. for use in the coming PlayStation 3, in exchange for access to certain Sony technologies. Mr. Jobs rejected the idea, telling Mr. Kutaragi that he was disappointed with the Cell design, which he believes will be even less effective than the PowerPC.
Every once and a while, even Steve Jobs can be right.

IBM's internal codename for "Cell" was "Smaug", as in the dragon in the hobbits.
"Everyone feared Smaug, but his arrogance and a soft spot on his belly lead to his doom.
He was ended with a single arrow."
How remarkably accurate. IBM's original suggestion for Cell -- one they thought would provide much more real-world power -- was a multi-core PowerPC chip, ala the Xbox 360's subsequent design. In the end the political-compromise was made with Toshiba's grand design -- 1 PowerPC chip and 8 tiny dumb ones.
Was IBM trying to make a snide remark here?
The IBM codename for the Xbox 360's CPU was "Waternoose", BTW.

I'll be buying an xbox this time around. MSFT have a better vision of the future of the gaming console than SONY so the hardware will be more useful than the PS3 and will have a longer useful life. Of course, that will tie us more closely to MSFT than ever before.

If they can get their Blu-Ray to work right and for their box not to cost a fortune, the PS3 will be a great buy. But from what I've seen the surrounding software for the XBox is very well thought out and polished, as would be expected from a software company with the resources of M$. And it looks from a casual observer's perspective that M$ is executing smoothly on bringing this to market fairly full-featured. I would have wished for a fuller suite of titles for the XBox launch, on the other hand.
We'll have to see how things shake out. The price that these systems sell at will be a big consideration for me. I'm leaning XBox.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
Xenos/Xbox 360 GPU seems like an absolutely brilliant piece of engineering.
It looks like they looked at the current state of the art PC graphics cards, thought "what are the bottlenecks, and what would we change?" and systematically eliminated all of them. Something they can afford to do when they don't have to worry about legacy performance like the PC cards and have a closed system.

This game looks so sweet...graphically, comedy-wise, and gameplay wise.
Really dig the movie references/spoofs, like Saving Private Ryan and The Matrix.
The game is due out this month for Xbox (1). Seems Rare hasn't lost its touch.
