Don't you think it's a shame a country with such a fine history no longer has any decent educational establishments and you have to ship your brightest overseas to get properly educated?
Thell that to our government who want to reduce the inductees in our universities.

They are the ones who didnt manage to enter greek universities. basically you get all our crap
disclaimer: some of them do study hard, most are just eating up daddy's fortune (whose ambition after they failed greek exams is most of the time what made them go there)

and maby they should be reduced. look at all those unemployeed doctors and lawyers. greek parents value education above all else and that's fine but it can become a problem sometimes.

i remember when i was living in belgium the dad of one of our acquintances was saying with a big smile in his face that his sone has just finished studying to become a sweets baker (zaxaroplastis!). and he didnt feel ashamed of that, on the contrary he was happy because that was what his son wanted to be. try tell that to the average parent here that his son or daughter will not be a doctor or a lwayer or go to university and they'll consider that a "failure" not to say a minor catastrophy.

i'm just saying another point of view , i dont have a definite point on this.

I did have this odd feeling of complicity with something naughty but also incredibly brazen, like "lets not hide the fact we nicked all this stuff and maybe we can keep it".

if we like it or not that is how europa became so powerfull...stealing, warmongering and repression...

the americans just perfected it so that is why they are the most powerfull now...

kinda the same way as all 'roman' inventions were already discovered by other civilizations but the Roman empire just 'romanized' it (bigger and better)

You won't find many stolen items in the Smithsonian. We've always been a bit cleverer about how we handle things...

But we didn't perfect "stealing, warmongering and repression." We were clever enough to find a new way and we're on top because of it.

if at first you rob a bank by shooting everbody and taking the money

and afterward hack in and do it in such a way nobody will ever find out you still prefected the art of bankrobbery
