But yes, Boston does close early - but not until 2. Blame it on lingering puritanical effects.
If a city doesn't have good restaurants open until 4am then it isn't worth living in. Bonus points are awarded if said restaurants are willing to break state liquor laws for regulars and keep serving until the last bar fly leaves.

Second, I will be the first to say the T sucks. Jimmy, sorry, but it does. I hate having to take the Green B line to and from school 4 times a day, because it is slow and overcrowded. There are a great deal of changes that are necessary.
      Blasphemy.

The Green line does suck. It sucks because its almost exclusively used by out-of-towners to get to and from their over-priced college. Other than that its fine.

Now the red line is classy. I used to take the Mattapan Trolley to Ashmont station everyday and it came every five minutes and was free.

      hell yeah

Yes, I found the Vatican crap, because there wasn't a McDonalds in the Sistine Chapel !

Trams are civilized, you heathen. There's a very good dining tram in Melbourne, Az, if ever you're tempted to pop Down Under and want to educate Melbourne's lovely Jewish girls in the joys of Az.

is "civilized" a euphemism for slow? Trams are only allowed if it's a town in germany with less than a million in metro area. Otherwise, get a ****ing rapid rail line.

Those are just a connector service to the actual subway trains. They're vintage 1930s trams. They're also free, so how can you beat that?

                  OMFG!!!!!!!!!!

                  What a load of horse****.
As far as the "Silver" bus line, a system of dedicated bus lanes are an awesome idea.

Ottawa, Ontario (where I live now) has had such a system for years and it works excellently.

                  The Transitway
The Transitway is a unique dedicated bus route that has its own bus lanes running in a fixed dedicated guideway which serves numerous communities and downtown Ottawa. The Transitway is served by two trunk Transitway lines, the #95 and #97, and are also intersected and used by local, express, and feeder routes that travel to and/or through the busway. Routes 95 and 97 are proof-of-payment routes, in which fares can be paid on the bus, and proof of payment via a transfer, receipt, or passes, are required to board. They serve areas such as Kanata, Lincoln Fields, Orleans, Greenboro, and St. Laurent.

And all those stops are serviced by normal street buses. It works. The fact that Boston is utilizing this to compliment its many other diverse forms of transit, I think, makes it one of the more dynamic cities for public transport in the world.

Like I said, its just a connector service to the main high speed rail line. No one wants a ****ing speed liner going through an old, quiet town village.

Dedicated bus lines are dandy, but not wasting tons of cash on immense underground stations for them. just run the light rail thru, and get it over with.

For most mass transit, frequency of service is more important than speed of vehicle, so smaller trams that runmore frequently are better than fast trains that run slower and have stops further apart.
