In our four days there, I have no experience with the Boston mass transit system.

However, driving there is a blast. Highly recommended.

Sadly, I'll likely never get to test my chops against some of the worlds worst driving cities - Rome, Athens, Cairo. Sometimes life just isn't fair.

Which line did you ride? The Green line has smallish cars (they're the oldest ones), but all the rest are almost identical to the TTC ones.

They are not. I went on both the Green and Blue lines and the cars were worse than TTC streetcars for ****'s sake.

Downtown Boston is a dump. The Museum is good though.

Yeah, it's not my first choice (it wasn't beforehand, and the visit reinforced that perception). Their attitude is "we're to good for you; you should be crawling on your knees thanking us for letting you go here if you get it".

No, but that wasn't the question.

You must be on crack. Its a beautiful downtown, it has lots of character. Although with the Big Dig going on all the construction really detracts from it. You need to see it once its done to do a justice.

                        ...but WTF?

You're pointing to the ****ing SILVER LINE as an indication to Boston's T?

First, the Underground System that was built just finished a few months ago. There are no riders because development in South Boston (where the Silver Line tunnels are) is stalled. Once development continues, there will be thousands of riders a day.

Second, I will be the first to say the T sucks. Jimmy, sorry, but it does. I hate having to take the Green B line to and from school 4 times a day, because it is slow and overcrowded. There are a great deal of changes that are necessary.

But a transit system does not a city make. There are a great deal of things to do once you exit the subway doors.

Really, I had to walk for hours to find a phucking Post Office and the one I found resembled something from North Korea.
