Is there any reason why I should follow this thread, considering that the people responsible for this are being prosecuted?I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Lets say that the DA starts announcing charges on tuesday. He starts with 4. he charges 3 more on Thursday. Its Friday and he hasnt charged any more yet. On Friday the Times runs an article, and says the DA has enough evidence to charge another 20. Those few dozen are among several hundred thousand who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they are being processed by the US military legal system.
You can ***** and whine about an investigating board recommending prosecution back in October and 7 of 27 being charged by May, but that's standard judicial and prosecutorial process. An investigating board's recommendation doesn't rely on the same level or standard of evidence needed to commence a General Court Martial prosecution under the UCMJ and the procedural requirements of the MCM.
