Spiff, I am sure you could work out the details on a reunion. As to Q wanting to be independent, I would think that would depend on how you asked the question. If you asked them "from whom?", you might learn a little more about their real asperations.
But, is there anything fundamentally incompatible in between the legal systems of Canada and France that would prevent the Quebecers and French from forming a single country?http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en

Independence Ned. The word says it.
The incompatibility does not lie in the legal systems. I don't see why the french would be interested in such a relationship, but i can assure you that we sure are not.http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en

Alright, why? A lot of Americans could see the Brits and the US re-united, but on some basis of equality.
As for Quebec's situation, i cannot see one single reason why we would want to do that.
You say: "why not?" I say:"why?"
What could we possibly gain from any type of association with France? What?

Besides, that doesn't solve the problem of the C$ - roadblocks don't prevent money from flowing through bank accounts. In Soviet Russia, Fake borises YOU.

but not by much.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

I suspect they could live with that if we could live with the Brit royal family in some fashion.http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+M arch+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en
