Cotton is huge business in Texas and those boys sure do love their subsides.

I seriously doubt there are Québecois who want to become part of France. How many English Canadians want to be governed from London?

          That will be the day.

The next logical step for NAFTA is the free movement of labor. We already have free movement of goods and the free movement of capital so labor is the last road block. Ideally, some sort of deal will be worked out so that one border patrol agency covered all three countries so that drug smuggling and people smuggling could be jointly controlled.

They don't want to part of France. A minority want to be independent but the reality is the Quebec would be non-economically viable or at least more marginal then the wider Canadian state.

It does strike me as two faced that the English paqrts of Canada have to have French signs even though there are virtually no native French speakers in those areas. Compared to Quebec where all signs are in French and where a significant part of the population are native English speakers.

You know the North East is just longing to join the socialist Utopia. Then the domino theory kicks in, leaving just the south to rise again, just as they always said they would.

Governered from? Surely you jest. Q is no longer a colony, but an equal partner.

Wales is supposedly an equal partner to England. Still largely governed from London though.

France is a centralized country. For Québec to be an equal partner to France, Québec would have to be an independant nation (which is what the independantist Québecois want, incidentally )

You had a hard time figuring out the difference between "Dorchester Blvd" and "Boul. Dorchester"?

I don't know where people get that info, that's just false.

Perhaps because they've changed it to Boul. René Lévesque.

Quebec sucks up a ton of subsidies from the Candian Federal government so it looks better off then it really is but if those subsidies stopped (and they would stop if the independence crowd got what they wanted) then propare to see schools close, roads go unrepaired, and police forces slashed.
