Hardly surprising at all. The source of the hate is the left which wants to see America reduced in power. Any American president who uses American power to extend our influence is opposed by the left. They did the same to Reagan, recall.
I don't want to see the US reduced in power. Not all lefties are the knee-jerk US-bashing idiots we are caricatured as.

Also, Bush, like Reagan, supports conservative social values like limiting our now unlimited abortion rights. This kind of thinking really sets the left off.
because it is a personal decision, if you are against abortion DON"T GET ONE.

Finally, both Reagan and Bush were "religious." To the left, anyone who is religious is stupid and must be derided as such. Guys like Bill Mahar (sp?) openly say this all the time.
Leftie does not automatically anti-religion. My relatives, for example, are leftists BECAUSE of thier religious convictions, they are the true Christians, not the Bible Belt nuts.

for some reason, americas god squad does not believe in helping the poor, which is why most of them are going to hell

not to mention, many of them are hypocrites (condeming gays while themselves being gay) and lying to the people.

Mmm, a good blue cheese with a nice piece of bread and an old port.

We eat cheese for cheese (between the main course and the desert, or along with the first course)

and they drink their hot chocolate out of a cereal bowl.
Thaer'es much more room for chocolate than in a mug

For the Germans, the French are "pretentious, offhand and frivolous".
Who isn't frivolous when compared to the Germans?

The Dutch describe them as "agitated, talkative and shallow."

            ...

The Spanish see them as "cold, distant, vain and impolite"
Oh the irony. The boring Dutchmen find them exuberant, the exuberant Spaniards find them cold.

In Italy they comes across as "snobs, arrogant, flesh-loving, righteous and self-obsessed" and the Greeks find them "not very with it, egocentric bons vivants".
            Italy gets it 10/10.

Not at all, I only stayed there for like 10 days. If I hadn't come back, I'd have lost my uni semester (and the $1500 fee that comes with it).

We need more French Women in the forum. You don't get too many complaints about them.

Like the old joke says: why are French women and French ships so much alike? They are both well built and poorly manned...

It seems the Rosbifs were right about those humorless French
