    • That's pretty funny, but doesn't really mean anything. I am sure Goebbels would've pwned both of them.

      • Doubtful. Goebbels was a rabble-rouser.

        Galloway's a verbal sparrer.

        Different skills.

        • Goering, then? He was definitely a verbal sparrer and turned the Nuremburg trial on its head.

Can't really see how either side came out on top in this snooze-fest...
            You could be right

            I never saw the testimony

            • If only the current bunch of vapidities and milksops had been around in the Red Scare period, then Chairman Mao could have appeared before them and convinced them he was a member of the John Birch Society.

Honestly did those ill-prepared incompetents think all they had to do was scribble 'Saddam' and 'George Galloway' and 'money' and 'oil' on the back of a post-it note inviting their secretary for a weekend in Las Vegas and suddenly Galloway would roll over and yell 'uncle' ?

Perhaps they were thinking it was some remake of 17th Century witch trials and Gorgeous George was Isobel Gowdie.

They've done an amazing job of getting me to admire a politician I usually cordially loathe.

                        • Remember Fawaz Zureikat, Galloway's dodgy businessman buddy?

His company has been chosen to sell computer chips to the Iraqis. US-made computer chips, used by the American military.

And that was one of the big points Galloway was making, how the US was cashing in by only allowing our companies to make money with reconstruction projects, which Iraqis weren't given the chance at.

                            • I was talking to some friends last night about this and the first thing they said was any parliamentary committee worth its keep in the UK, Canada, NZ or Australia could have easily dealt with Galloway. Because they deal with witnesses like him every day.

So who has the vigorous democracy?
