Seriously though... I can't believe this. I went to a Catholic elementary school and I remember being taught there at the age of 11 about all the different kinds of contraception there were and why it is important to use them if you don't want to get STDs or pregnant. At a bloody catholic school too! And these kids are getting taught this hogswash at a High School. Hopefully they know better from watching TV...

Science says you are wrong. Religious extremists who block scientific sex education and who spread lies to create disinformation seem to be a big part of teen pregnancy and the spread of STDs. Proper education about safe sex and the spread of STDs would encourage safe sex and lower the rate of both STDs and teen pregnancy. This has been shown in study after study but still some people doubt the common sense approach for some reason.

I saw this docu about some teens making these promises that they wouldn't have sex before getting married. Ok. Sounds like a nice thing, except that it meant that they had had oral sex, anal sex, etc. But since the girl is a virgin, technically, and the boy hasn't taken the technical virginity, they'd still be virgins? BUhahahahahaahahhaaheaheehaehhe Freaking idiots!

Then there was this dude who would speak to these teens all the time so they would keep their promise better, and they always ask how far can they go, and he said the rule is what you wouldn't do in front of your parents, you shouldn't do with your partner either. wtf?? What kind of a sick dude is this anyway..

OK I have no problem with boys and girls who make these promises etc, not at all. I think it's good to have sex rather later than too soon.

And then there was this couple getting married, young as hell. They have never seen each other naked. They say they get urges so they can't do much together to begin with. They have rules.. they always keeps the lights on, and they don't just sit and watch television, because there might be kissing and all that stuff going on, so they would be lured into that and satan would make them lose their virginity. WTF???

Anyway... good luck with the condom causes cancer. Idiots like these should be jailed.

abstinence is probably going to make things much worse.... the more you consciously try to not do something, the more you're thinking about doing it... I say.
Example... when I have consciously tried to quit smoking it has only made me think about smoking more... yet if I'm just keeping myself busy with daily tasks I find that often I can go days with only one or two cigarettes, if any.
One of the problems that could arise for these people is the tension between their personal resolve to abstain and the almost ubiquitous sexualization of things as mundane as shaving equipment within the media.
I think personally the oversaturation of sex has only made me more tired of it. I went through a stage of not having a girlfriend and wanting sex all the time, but now I have one all I can think about is just getting on with my personal studies and work. There should be a foundation that pairs abstainers up with complete nymphomaniacs... they'll soon tire of sex naturally out of complete exhaustion and oversaturation.... like the kid whose been forced to chainsmoke a carton of cigarettes by his parents who caught him smoking.
The theory could backfire... but the current way of doing things in the US seems to be infinitely more idiotic.
