Nah, Che is actually kind of cuddly compared to others I have known (I actually has worked with two from the blekingegade bande)
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

      Cuddly!?!
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Well, how many millions have you send to terroorganisatiaions from bankrobberies ?

My guess is that the main part of your revolution is made from your armchair

Are these the same "victims" and "demonstrators" that raided and torched government buildings and released thousands of fundies out of prison? if so, 200 is just goddamn not enough.

No you did not. You started a thread about US killing 200 protestors.

Oh, you disguised it very well in claiming that it "only" was US backed Uzbekistans that did it, but really ? It is too obviously.
I posted an article. I didn't make any claims.

I don't know what US has to do with this.
The people who did this are funded by the US.

I didn't see any attempts at justifying the killings. What I did see was a certain amount of feeble pretending to care about the victims in order to post a troll thread aimed at the Bush administration.
I'm sorry that I am not the compassionate, selfless individual that you are who truly cares and is an advocate for the oppressed people of third world nations such as Uzbekistan. But this isn't a troll thread, and it isn't about the Bush administration. I am merely pointing out an example of US funded terrorism.

It's common knowledge the US gives a lot in aid to Uzbekistan, so I didn't figure I needed to cite it. But here you go. Type in: 'US military aid to Uzbekistan' on google and the first two links you'll see will be links about the US giving aid to Uzbekistan.

This one says the US gives 79 million in aid to their police forces.

This one says the US cut 18 million aid from the 500 million in aid in protest of their human rights record (I know, how righteous of the US, to only give the Uzbeki government 482 million instead of 500), but then added an additional 12 million in aid, so I guess it is now up to 494 million.
"The first man who, having fenced off a plot of land, thought of saying, 'This is mine' and found people simple enough to believe him was the real founder of civil society. How many crimes, wars, murders, how many miseries and horrors might the human race had been spared by the one who, upon pulling up the stakes or filling in the ditch, had shouted to his fellow men: 'Beware of listening to this imposter; you are lost if you forget the fruits of the earth belong to all and that the earth belongs to no one." - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Well, they like to throw muslims in jail and torture them just for the fun of it there. http://hrw.org/doc/?t=europe_pub&c=uzbeki
I guess we will just have to wait and see what was really going on, if it's normal civilians or fundies behind all this.
As for US being involved, the media here reported they were actually hiding in their bases to avoid stirring up even more trouble

Yeah, especially known anti-muslim prez. Islam Carimov.

somehow I don't think it's "just ordinary muslims", but "devout" ones.

Hell, why go that far? just remember the fall of the SU itself - practically zero violence.

There was quite a fair bit of oppression against one of the first national uprisings though. IIRC, it was Lithuania.
