Catch-22. Great film of a terrific book. If you've never read the book (shame on you), the movie is a great way to experience Heller's characters and ideas. Marvellous cast, and a really awesome death.

It is indeed a quality film; Lucas picked a good one to rip off for Star Wars. I wanted to rent it the other day, but the Kurosawa DVD collection at the local rental place doesn't have any English subtitles...
The opening sequences where the two buffoons are trying to escape the war are some of the most visually spectacular sequences in film. Really something and groundbreaking.

            Apocalypse Now, the redux

...though hidden fortress is an awesome movie.

              2001: A Space Odyssey

One of the best movies ever made.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

                  So far we have:

                  LOTR
                  O' Brother Where Art Thou?
                  The Hidden Fortress
                  Life of Brian
Count of Monte Cristo (with Richard Harris)
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
                  The Seven Samurai
                  Catch-22
                  Apocalypse Now Redux
                  2001: A Space Odyssey
                  Fight Club
                  Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country

There's enough room for 12 more nominations.

Another "suggestion" - don't nominate movies that are very similar to another nominee. For ex., if you see 2001 and think "Yeah, Kubrick! Let's nominate Clockwork!"... don't do it. That's just sad.

Star Trek, which must include all television series and feature films

We're talking about movies, not TV shows. Movies.

Please indicate which film you're nominating by supplying an IMDB link. While you don't "need" to when nominating an obvious title like Life of Brian, it is still helpful.

The first rule of Apolyton Movie Group is that we don't discuss Apolyton Movie Group.

At least to outsiders. They'll just think we're odd.
