For some reason, the link did not work. But my comment is this:

Most Democrats would find it to be a badge of honor to be officially excommunicated by the corrupt, fascist and very evil Roman Catholic Church.

They're not Catholic, they're a Baptist Church where the pastor excommunicated all 40 dem-voting members in one fell swoop...

Baptists are, by and large, hypocrites. Although they are so ignorant of Biblical teachings as to not realize it.

They give whacko fundamentalists a bad name

Hope that church loses its tax-exempt status.

Baptists are jerks. They keep coming to my door trying to convert me because apparently being slightly dark skinned = muslim.

Put a sign on your door saying "No dogs or Baptists allowed."

According to AP reports, only 12 or so were excommunicated. The others resigned in protest. Not that it makes a difference in my book — what that pastor did was wrong, and his church should lose its tax-exempt status should an investigation prove he crossed the line of church/state separation.

Nah, just let them be. I thought that in the Baptist church the pastor served at the pleasure of the congregation, and therefore a pastor could not dismiss congregants on his own. I don't know about the baptist church, but in the Episcopalian church deacons are usually members with a long and distinguished history of service to the parish and usually are either on the vestry or have been on it repeatedly and have many friends on it. Even in the tradition bound Episcopal church, where priests are invested by a Bishop priests don't usually dismiss the vestry, it's more likely to be the other way around.
