Interning also does wonders for technical and non-technical types. When I interned on Capitol Hill my boss started out as a 27 year-old intern and got hired. I started as an intern at my firm and now I'm going to be some sort of junior lobbyist/researcher after only two months. Well, I think both Urban Ranger and Asher have valid points, they aren't mutually exclusive to each other.
I've gotten alot of experience through both volunteer work AND doing an internship. In fact, the volunteer work helped me get the internship, and I could have gotten a job at the place where I interned.

I think it does fit, since we stressed three times in the advertisement that applicants MUST have the experience, it was mandatory. So sending me your resume would tell me either a) you don't read things carefully, b) you don't follow directions well and/or c) you're not very bright.

Finding an internship is near impossible if you won't work on saturdays i've found.Comment
