We don't celebrate this holiday 'round these parts.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Isn't may day that celtic holiday where virgins dance around poles and worship phallic symbols?

It was indeed a great achievement of the peaceful workers' paradise that they at least got some of their stamp printing machines to work.

There's nothing like a good dance around the Maypole.

I'm planning to work my ass off for 12 hours, starting in one hour.

I hope, at least, that it'll largely increase my money reserves for food purposes.
