Diss, are you not a fellow red brother? We are a free nation within the white devils country. We pay no taxes because in fact this is OUR land, our country!

Since my wife and father in law both work there they are hesitant to hire me. These jobs are good wampum and have excellent benefits. So, is there a genetic test I can take to prove my heretige?

If so, how would one go about it?
Ask them. The casino doesn't have to follow the same rules in establishing native american identity as the federal government. It is possible to 'officially' qualify as a native american while not being regarded as such by native american relatives and organizations. It's also possible that you would need to establish a connection to one of a small number of nations to qualify and it would not be at all sufficent to simply have a few native american great great greats high in the branches of your family tree.

Anyway, are you really comfortable getting hired on such criteria? Can you honestly tell yourself you've lived a life consistent with the values of your native american ancestors or are you walking a completely different path from them?

We are talking about a casino here Geronimo. Old folks lined up by the dozens feeding their social security into the machines. No high and noble purpose. For me, just a job. Health insurance...

Inventing false lineages is an old tradition in every society, to give legitimacy to your family. As one Indian told me, apparently, there were more Indian princesses than Indians.
There's some truth to what you say about false lineages. Everyone wants to be descended from royalty but considering how liberal the nobility was at spreading it around it is entirely possible. My (supposedly) true lineage goes back to the Irish High King Niall who brought St. Patrick to Ireland. However, in the old Irish records King Niall's lineage was traced all the way to Adam (which borders on ridiculous).

Back to the Indians though, my wife has reminded me that my two step-kids are 1/8 Cherokee. I guess I know where they can go to get a job.

Vince, my family is Irish and holds a traditional grudge against the chruch. Therefore I challange you to a duel!!

Oh and for the record, my mom says Im part Injun and my dad says we're direct descendants of German royalty. I dont believe either, my mom has foggy evidence of such, and my dad only has word of mouth passed down from I dont know who.

One day when I have some spare monies I will see what my DNA says.

Perfectly true. I'm just pointing out that it isn't exactly honest to present yourself as a native american if you don't see yourself that way.

You must be part Northern Irish.

Yeah well if there's a steady paycheck in it.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a phone call from the casino today, for an interview. If they hire me even though there's already two family members working there I won't have to whip out my injun part.

                            I hope they call.

If you go back far enough you have enough people who are your ancestors that being decended from royalty is a real posibility. If your ancestors are from western Europe and you go back 1000 years your ancestors would include most western Europeans living at that time, including nobles because they often had non-noble mistresses. This is because the numbers of ancestors you have increases exponentially each generation you go back. Most western Europeans likely also have a few non-european ancestors as a result of diplomats and traders hitting on the locals.
