A condom is essential if constantly having promiscuous sex. However if in a relationship (and that is the key word here) there are forms of contraception that are far preferable, such as the pill...in a monogamous relationship barrier contraception is not a necessity providing you trust your partner...and that is the issue...

      • Aggie, please... A dog cant consent thats the difference.

That argument doesn't work. A dog doesn't consent to other dogs, but we don't go around stopping dogs from screwing.

You don't destroy someone's future because they cheated on you. You dump them or you work things out.
"Modern" morality requires a considerable degree of forebearance by the human heart. Its not clear to me that this works for everyone. For all the pain that traditional values have caused and still cause, Im not sure that the modern alternatives dont cause just as much. Some folks can relatively easily get over breakups, betrayals, own or parental divorces, etc. Some can't.

Judging by MRT's posted reactions, he just MIGHT be the sort of person who'd do better in an environment that encouraged delay of sexual activity by age, and to a more explicitly commited relationship (whether that has to be "marriage" I dont know) and one witha more traditional view toward the involvement of outsiders. I get the sense that MRT would, however, see such an environment as prudish, religious, and other things hed see as negative. While Im more inclined to respect the wisdom of individual choice than some, I wonder if we have created a culture that has overly stigmatized certain traditional kinds of behavior and so hurt many people (I would quickly note that we still overly stigmatize some nontraditional behaviors, notably homosexuality)

It´s two completely different things, when love and feeling and sex and that crap is present it ****s up everything else...

I amazed at the naivety expressed here considering how naive people seem to like me out to be about matters of the heart...

No, but I'm sure those who are defending the porn-star cheating slut are.

No, that is not the issue. They where never in a monogamous relationship. The two of them got the STD during a threesome.

Nope. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. Then again, I'm like Socrates: I have a daimonion that tends to ward me off doing ruinous stuff.

But I stand by my position. If this person was a decent, trustworthy person who had made an honest mistake, then what MRT did would have been wrong. On the other hand, if she's just no good and manipulative, then she got what she deserved.

The best lesson that anyone can learn in life is that there are decent people, and there are crapbags, and that only a fool treats them the same way.

Now you´re just being silly. We´re talking consentual sex between adult humans here. Not the kind of sordid canine sex you´re filming as a "hobby"

It's funny to me that you defend MRT, but would go ballistis if someone told your family of your sex life.

But of course you'll say "That's different, [insert argument here]"

When the only way it's actually different is you being outed to your family happens to you.

                          ACK!

So why are you sympathizing with MRT?

I would definitely agree with all that you said. Im not at the point right now where i think i should have a serious commited relationship. I need to focus on school and becoming a productive member of society.

I definitely agree with the assessment that i dont like prudish, uptight girls, but i think i might be changing on this. I had a girlfriend more than a year ago that was very unsexual etc and then i went to the oppisite extreme.
