I think they may not even have mechanic brains, they seem to be virtually identical to humans. Basically just brain-washed augmented clones. We've seen Caprica-Sharon 'turn' and betray her own, not really something a robot would do. Same goes for getting knocked up

Are these Mark III's btw? In the Pilot, there are some documents on the table in the meeting area, showing a original series Cylon... Mark I. Then there are those new ones, Docfeelgood has one as avatar, currently... Mark II, and the human-like cylons... Mark III?
I have not seen the original Cylons ......think this is the early version before the first war......maybe?
no this is 40 year after the first series and first war

the origenal serie was also the first war...with the mark I...the new serie is about the the second war...with the marks II and III (the look to much like the star wars battle droids mark II IMHO)...but problem is that in the new series all the newer ships of the humans can be controlled by the cyclons so they still use the same kind of ships as they did in the first series...that maybe confusing....
now if i said something that was already said or understood my apoligeze i am trying to pass the time

The Original series started with the Cylons tricking the Colonials into a false peace after, I believe, a thousand yahren(probably years) war.
In the new series there has been a truce for 40 years. In that time the Cylons took off for parts unknown. Then came back to kick serious ass. There's osmething to be said for keeping tabs on your enemies.
It seems to me that the Cylons know everything that is going to happen and the Colonials only win when the Cylons want to them to and even when the Colonials win, they still lose. They just don't know it.
The one thing about BG is that it's so good that I have a hard time believing they can keep it going at that level. So far, the only scifi show to excel several seasons from beginning to end has been Farscape(IMHO). I never watched firefly so I can't compare.

[SIZE=1]Also now they know that Sharron is a Cylon what does this do to all the people that had been tested prior?
Nothing. Baltar knows she's a Cylon, but didn't tell anyone.

No, it's 40 years after the first war. The first series didn't happen. In the new series, Cylons were robot warriors created by the colonies to do their fighting for them (the colonies being engaged in a civil war, apparently), but they revolted, forcing the humans to have to fight their creations.

Thank God you posted this Cheg, I've been reading through thinking I'd missed the point entirely when I watched the pilot show!

You only pick up bits and parts here and there, and some of that I got from the BSG website.
On the flip side, our zeitgeist seems to be that we are deeply troubled about how fast our technology is progressing. The Matrix, BSG, the Terminator etc., are all modern retellings of Frankenstein.

Well, the last moments of the final were kind of a tell-tale sign (I won't disclose what it was in case anyone missed it, noone should have that precious moment spoiled )
Plus, Caprica-Sharon is bound to return to the Galactica in S2, she'd have a hard time talking herself out of that one as well...
And indeed, the plots of the two shows are completely unrelated. They take place in mirror universes, that explains why all the genders have been reversed
