i live a good 100 yards from the beach, which is pretty cool. in the summer there's nothing better than taking a football, a sterio and a few cans down and wasting some time. happy days.

I prefer a very rocky oceanfront because of the privacy. I don't swim in the ocean much. Jumping in the ocean is the same as jumping off the top of the food chain. I respect the right of others to do so, but then don't come complaining to me if you get eaten. Also, I'm getting a bit tired of the shark attack victims who go on TV saying how it wasn't the sharks fault etc... Shark bites me and it's war.
A saw a guy on TV who judoed sharks in his spare time. Yes, he invented a martial art to fight sharks underwater. He said he wanted to pick up a fight with a great white. Never heard from him again...

I think I heard of this guy. Isn´t he the brother of that guy that liked to lock himself in a cage with three tigers and then towel flick them on the nuts?

I don't like to swim either, but I like the beach. I generally like to be outdoors. I can't take too much sun on my very white skin though.

I haven't heard of his brother, but that sounds about right.

Beaches can be great, esp one with nice palm trees. Go swim in the open sea, or talk a walk with the SO, or just stand there looking out.

Rocky shores have their moments, too. Standing on top of a cliff, watching the ocean as the waves smash against the jagged rocks below and breaking, with trees behind me swaying in the wind. Hmm... nice.

I'm a beach person. Love to swim, surf and I'm just getting into diving. My cousin from Indiana loves to dive too...told me they have some flooded quarries there but when he came here, my cousin said that it was a different experience.

Although deep water scares the heck out of me. Also worked on a dinner cruise ship during college, was fun to see the shore from the water...and the occasion whales and dolphins.

I like beaches and water (I chose the Name of a seagod as nick, so this shouldn´t b e a surprise ).
At least as long as it aren´t those overcrowded beaches which are target to mass tourism (like Ibiza, Mallorca and the like).
But locations where this doesn´t apply and maybe even mostly untouched nature remains (there are small lakes in Catalunya where you rarely see a tourist ) can bee the most beutiful places on earth (at least for in my opinion )

I love living by the ocean, but prefer a cooler climate than most typical famous beaches tend to provide. I don't like hanging out on the beach at all, I don't like the sun, the heat or the sand. I do enjoy body surfing and snorkeling and I'm a strong swimmer, but I prefer warmer water than is generally available in the U.S. if I'm going to spend much time in the water.

I like to surf and I've lived near the ocean my whole life.

I surf - and i love the ocean(when it isn't polluted). But i wouldn't buy any property near the beach these days - riseing sea levels and all that. Still i'm happy to holiday at the beach(which i do twice a year) or live near enough to travel to it.
Now i like to live on high mountains just to protect my property investments for the future

But in an ideal world i'd live by the sea + surf every day if i could
