Mine died last night
Her grandkids were on their way, got in today
My sister with her new born were coming in on Thursday
and we were to be there on Friday with my wife who is 5+ months pregnant
I have taken time off work to go spend time with her (she lves 3 hours away)
I was her only grandson
She was my last grandma
She was my favorite grandma (sorry nana, but I think you knew)
Her husband, my grandpa, was my religious and educational mentor
I knew her love better than others
When my grandfather died in 92 I asked her how they met and how they were married... turns out she ran away from her home in N. Carolina to marry this military boy who moved from his tank company to the newly formed airforce during WWI... his tank company was wipped out in N. Africa. I was the first to discover that she ran away from home to marry....
I miss her already
Her man, my grandpa, spoiled her rotten and left her with US... Ugggg, imagine a spoiled rotten 70 year old!@ Then imagine her living for another 15 years!

I loved her to death... To her I was her husband as a young man. I was the only one who could tell her to shut-up, stay in line, or convince her that she was loved as I snuck her a smoke
She died in her sleep
peace.
