That is odd, considering how good they are.

The women have faded after failing to win the last WC and all the old stars from '99 Cup retiring. There was a big hubbub when Mia Hamm retired, but that may also have been a type of death knell (back to the dark ages again).“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Anyone see the shot from the Chelsea bench when they were obviously trying desperately to hide some kind of receiver? I guess he was just listening to BBC radio hey.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Yeah, he's a great player.
Last season he spent on loan at Birmingham and scored 20 or so goals for them - was their best player by miles. They could really have used him this season, he was supposed to be on loan to them again this year but he got an injury early in the season and has been out most of the year. Yesterday was his first game back. Great player and still young. He's got a great eye for goal. Two really good feet and he's really skillful, had to make a lot of his own goals playing for Birmingham.
I'm a big fan, and obviously so are the other Chelsea fans. He had his name sung several times in the first half when he was on the bench and when he was stripped and ready to come on he had to wait 5 minutes or so to get on as a sub and the crowd were going crazy singing his name.
Mourinho's apparently been really impressed with him during his recovery.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth

0/10 fooled no one! (least of all the ref who sent him off and awarded a pen)

It was a shame Bowyer overshadowed that, otherwise one of the funniest football things ever. But Bowyer fighting Dyer was funnier.Jon Miller: MikeH speaks the truth

Don't say that!!Now you jinxed it for next week
AZ played a great match tonight, very entertaining and a brilliant result. Goalie Timmer really ought to be man of the match...
I also saw the CSKA - Auxerre match on Eurosport earlier this evening, that was most entertaining as well. I saw both teams play earlier this season and they were horrible, but today they both played great, attacking football. Auxerre deserved better than to get their arses kicked 4-0 (though Moscow did create more chances)...

Yay! Newcastle beat Sporting 1-0!
Shearer with the goal! Though the funny thing was Dyer started the game and was subbed midway through the second half. His replacement? That's right, Lee Bowyer.
