No. He was quoted just last week on NPR telling poor people he was the best defense attornoy in America and if they wanted him to work for them they'd better come up with a $100k deposit. When asked how they would come up with the money Jonny told them to pray they win the lottery or something.

He was a businessman and didn't have to work for anyone he didn't want to but the idea JC was a champion of the poor just doesn't match reality.

Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed heavenly host, think about this: If Chewbacca does not make sense, you must let me in.

No doubt that JC was a very good attorney. Still, I can never forgive him for his abuse of the system in the OJ case. That Judge Ito allowed him to get away with murder is no excuse.

He got OJ off. Indeed. But most fair observers must agree that the result was a travesty.

You can't forgive him for doing his job?! Defendants deserve lawyers too, Ned. Unless you'd rather they stand there without representation in a guilty before innocent way.

Aside from his family and his clients, why would anyone care that he is dead?

Did I say otherwise? What I object to was his abuse of the legal process.

What abuse was that? Getting a jury to believe him?

Yes, even people like OJ deserve a ****e bag to defend them.

Shaping up to be a good week for those in a pool.

33 points Johnny. Thanx, least you were good for something.

Ladies and gentlemen of the supposed jury, Chef's attorney would certainly want you to believe that his client wrote "Stinky Britches" ten years ago. And they make a good case. Hell, I almost felt pity myself!

But ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider: Ladies and gentlemen this [pointing to a picture of Chewbacca] is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk, but Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now, think about that. That does not make sense! Why would a Wookiee—an eight foot tall Wookiee—want to live on Endor with a bunch of two foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!

But more important, you have to ask yourself, what does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense!

Look at me, I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca. Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense. None of this makes sense!

And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberating and conjugating the Emancipation Proclamation... does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense.

If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

                              I'm indifferent to Cochran dying...

I've heard he did great things for people, attacking the LAPD for brutality and racism and such...

but I don't think I can forgive him for OJ

he was a good lawyer though

I can no longer remember the particulars of what Cochrane pulled on the court, but at the time of the trial I was daily appalled at the liberties he took and was allowed to get away with. Daily.

Marcia Clark wrote a book discussing the trial. I haven't read it, but it might be interesting from the point of view of learning about Cochrane's tricks.
