I don;t know to whom that is directed, but I will answer- I said in the first thread that it would be lovely to just inject her with something and get it done quickly.

That happens to be illegal in Florida and thus NOT an option. People go with what they got.

She is not in a coma, can talk, can laugh, can cry and is aware of her surroundings. She has some of her cerebral cortex left. Whether she can improve from THIS state to be what she once was is hopeless because most of her brain is gone. The judge made his final conclusion in the original case with these words:

"Those statements above noted contain no limitations or conditions. However, as Mrs. Tyler noted when she testified as to quality of life being a primary criteria and artificial life support matters, Americans want to "try it for a while" but they do not wish to live on it with no hope of improvement. That implicit condition has long since been satisfied in this case."

Thus the judge in this case condemned Terry to die because she had no hope for improvement even though her parents were satisfied with Terry in state she is in an even though Terri has apparently stated herself, last Friday, that she wanted to live.

Clearly, DinoDoc, it is wrong to state than that she has no cerebral cortex left and that any response she makes to stimuli is purely primitive and that she has no consciousness left. This has never been established.

The priest who gave Terri her last rights just said on the radio that he believes that Terri is at least 25% conscious. She is aware. She laughs. She cries. She communicates.

Yep... it is incredibly sad when people REALLY want to believe all the parent's propaganda with no factual basis. You know the 'Terry stated herself she wanted to live' was? The Aunt said on TV that she said "Do you want to live, Terry" and the body said "Ehhhhhh" really loud! I actually laughed my ass off. I don't know who is more deluded, the family or people like Ned that believe them.

Imran, no doubt the family could be reading something into Terri's responses. But the nurses have said the same thing about Terri. Now Terri's priest has chimed in.

Now, you say all this is Schindler propaganda. I have not cited the Schindlers in anything I have said. I have provided links and have cited people independent of the Schindlers and have repeatedly asked why these people should lie?

It is curious that Judge Greer said the Schindlers has an adverse interest because they would inherit from Terri if they were appointed guardian, completely ignoring that the whole object of the Schindlers is to keep Terri alive!!!!! The person who has a screw loose is the judge.

Ned - first of all, considering the states involved, average appointees, etc. I doubt that 21 of the minimum 40 judges involved are qualified as "liberal" judges. Heck, I doubt you can find more than a dozen who the liberals would consider as one of theirs.

Secondly, I have watched the tragic attempts of family to make the best out of terrible cases of brain damage. Some friends had a child who at 6 and 1/2 (she died at that age due to an accident related to her neurological impairments, there were other associated problems) still could not babble.

Yet the parents, who insisted on mainstreaming her, were trying to find that she was attempting to say "mama" out of her rythmic grunts. It was so sad, and none of use even tried to tell them how wrong they were, they were just trying to see some kind of hope out of a terrible situation. The man was part of my wedding party, these were not just casual friends.

After 10 to 14 minutes of no pulse, her brain is largely dead. Find me one cite, except in the cases of immersion in cold water, where after that much time the individual has not been severely brain damaged. Thank God, literally, that she is finally going on to whatever awaits her.

Well he's totally right. Yeah, they are 'fighting to keep Terri alive', but what happens if they get guardianship? Will they fight as hard then? If Michael has an adverse interest, so do the Schindlers. They'd inherit if they got guardianship.

Nurse(s)? Aside from the one nurse, which other ones have said she is talking and carrying on conversations? Also, the priest isn't conflicted at all . He's the freaking Schinder's PRIEST, of course he's on the "she's alive, ALIVE" side. You think the Schindler's would have a priest that thought Terry was no more?
