Meh. The books are horribly inconsistent anyway.

We don't see the Trek characters lives 24/ 7, you know. And maybe they don't need to use the loo. Maybe they have Emergency Beamout.

Oh, and if we're going to misspell Bajoran, why not spell it "Bjorn"?

Of course DS9 is not before TNG, you can tell because Worf's headridges were basically the same from some point in TNG on through DS9, whereas they were different at the beginning of TNG. Strange physiology Klingons have, eh?

As far as I know, Sisko himself had no idea of his wierd parentage until late in the series.

I could accept them finding dilithium on Europa or Io or something. But going by the movie, it doesn't seem like Earth had much chance to find it before it took place.

The books are fiction from the perspective of the shows. It's already stretching it enough with all the travel time required for what we do see onscreen, especially for the Enterprise series.

I agree with Boris. Picard was one of the worst on many levels. I still watched some STNG episodes despite Picard, somewhat hoping they would kill him off and bring a replacement, especially if the episode had a "He's dead Jim" scene.

Particularly remembering was of all the StarTrek captains Picard won the prize for surrendering the most - all which I must have just happened to have seen. This includes surrendering on the very 1st STNG episode. I know Kirk wasn't this surrender-happy and somehow I doubt Sisko, Archer, or even Janeway were as eager to surrender so often. It's not like deciding to have sushi for lunch one week.

Encounter at Farpoint: Picard says, "Transmit the following in all languages and in all frequencies: 'We surrender'."
A Matter of Honor: Picard surrenders to Riker on the Pagh.
Peak Performance: Picard surrenders to the Ferengi.
The Last Outpost: Picard tries to surrender to the Ferengi, but they beat him to it.
Surrender seems to be on the tip of his tongue too easily.

The Outrageous Okono: Picard drops shields "in case we decide to surrender to them."
The one thing Picard had going for him as a captain was his deep commanding voice, but where that might be enough for a car commercial it's not enough for a captain.

Picard rules. My dad said when it first started he was too old. And I thought so too. But he's a good actor, and he brought class to the captain's chair (not as much banging hot alien chicks though ).

and even though you pointed out he surrendered alot, the Enterprise still came out on top. And never had to be destroyed, or was destroyed.

How many Enterprises did Captain Kirk go through?

Well, he is of french descent

But seriously, Picard is teh man! And TNG beats the other shows by miles (except for DS9)

Only two, actually. The original Enterprise NCC 1701 lasted the whole of TOS and the two first movies. It was destroyed by Kirk to prevent it from falling into Klingon hands in the third movie. As a result of this Kirk was demoted from admiral, but given a new ship the Enterprise A. This served the TOS crew well up until the peace talks at Khitomer in Star Trek VI, after which it was decommissioned.

Yep. Picard, on the other hand, lost the Stargazer and the Enterprise-D (and had had the Enterprise D blow up in countless episodes, especially Cause and Effect). Maybe he'll manage to destroy the Enterprise E at some point.
