The family isnt ready to part with her yet. They seem to think this woman will come back to some type of person she used to be.

That's understandable, isn't it? Certainly no reason to condemn them, as certain posters have...

Considering how long he has been paying to keep her alive divorce would be much cheaper.

Two courts have seen the evidence, seen Terri, and ruled otherwise.

good for the courts... thank god we have responsible, pragmatic people making sound decisions rather than a bunch of whackie fundies with a political axe to grind

Michael Schiavo has turned down offers of $1 million and $10 million to sign rights over to Terri's parents.

They ruled that she can't breath on her own? Wow.

So why are they starving her to death, then?

oops I quoted the wrong thing... they ruled that she is in PVS, contrary to the fundie sources Shi is posting

to end her suffering... but many sick individuals blinded by ideology are wishing for her to suffer for an extended period

It's a sad point when you become a whacy fundie for not wanting to murder someone.

Ixnay already showed how the video footage is BS. The Schindlers had it edited to show things to make it appear she was cognizant of things. When the full footage was shown in court (footage the Schindlers refuse to release), it was completely unconvincing.

That's understandable, isn't it? Certainly no reason to condemn them, as certain posters have...
I certainly never condemned them wanting such a thing, but I will condemn them for their "ends justifies the means" dishonesty about it.

Also, it's understandable that you wouldn't want to put a family pet to sleep because you love it, but it's considered cruel to let an animal linger on when you can allow it to die. Why do we deny such humaneness for an actual human?

See, I think the truly offensive posts here are the ones impugning Michael Schiavo's motives with regards to his wife. Slandering his intentions with wild claims that his position is borne of greed is disgusting. There is every reason to believe he loves his wife very much and believes this is not only what she would have wanted, but what is best.
