Kamrat, lose some weight and become a volunteer. The former is optional but the latter is essential.

        volunteer and go to education

Even if no one will hire you education for its own sake is well worth your time and effort.

Yeah, lots of people get jobs because they volunteer to work for free for some cause or another. I mean if you are an employer and this guy has been voluntering with you for a few months, he's done a good job, he knows all about your company & what it does then who will you hire? I'd go for the guy who I already know and who I know has done a good job for me in the past.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. Especially you reds But I have education coming out of my ears, it´s just that I can´t seem to finish anything I start. I took a 1 year journalist course back in 2002 but that hasn´t given me any work. Only "real" journalists, with a "real" degree can bother to apply to the journalist jobs in my area. I liked the course though, so it wasn´t a complete waste. It taught me to write in a journalistic manner. And I had a journalistic ambition there for a while, but then the great apathy fell on me. I no longer cared for people or their sorry little lives. Not to mention all the half-assed rallys and demonstrations the radical left is pulling together, in a vain attempt to influence public opinion... I have also studied technical/computer stuff, economic history, political science and social science. Not to mention the myriads of so called "educations" forced on me by the Unemployment Office.

I have also been involved in politics since 1984, first in the Social Democrats Youth section, SSU, there I stayed for 10 years before I left in disgust over corruption and betrayed ideologies. I then wandered in the desert for three years, then I stumbled upon the Socialist Party, swedish section of the Fourth International, a small but vibrant group of post-trotskyites. I became very active and thought I had found a group of people I could connect to, with views I could accept. But lately I´ve started to ask myself what the hell is the point, you know? Struggling constantly uphill, going through the motions of a "real" party. Participating in general elections where we get maybe 2000 votes on a national basis, more on a city council basis. But still not enough to really be successful (1 seat in the city council of Köping, a small town in the lower middle of Sweden). And every time we try to gather the radical left in some coalition or other, everyone is too busy to see to their own organizations interest and not to the colation as a whole. It´s like we set the table with a giant smorgasbord and everyone is beting each other over the head trying to get as much of the food to themselves. And we stand in the middle trying to divide the food fairly... This has left me very disillusionised and cynical towards the left in general and mankind in particular. I mean if we can´t share things equally now, what about later when the real **** goes down? It will be bloody murder and mayhem and the ****ing Soviet Union all over, that´s what!

Not that there will ever be any revolution in the west, the working class is to divided, stupid and comportable with capitalism as it is. They don´t want change as long as they can stuff thier mouths with McDonalds, drive their SUVs and watch the mindnumbingly stupid excuse for tv-programs. Oh, and drink themselves to oblivion every other friday of course. **** that! ...or rather I don´t care anymore. Let the whole ****ing world burn, I´m doing what I think is right and I´m not concerned about anyone else but myself and my family and friends. I´m tired of preaching to people, trying to convince them what´s right. Tired of giving and giving and giving to a cause that no one cares about, the working class wouldn´t piss on us, even if we were on fire... If they are stupid enough to ignore the warnings, it´s not my problem. We´re all gonna die anyway, sooner or later.

I also spent a few years working with Miljöförbundet, the swedish section of Friends of the Earth. But again, no one cares and the organization is marred by internal bickering since 10 years. A bickering that basically had shut the organization down and purged it of all the sane members. The only ones left are a few relics from the 70´s and lobbyists that use the organization to further their own agendas.

I also tried to start a newspaper, a radical newspaper. free from commercial and party political influence. But this was shot to hell by the free speech- and consensus fascist hippies of the swedish Independent Media Center ( where I also was very active for a year or so). Self employment isn´t such a bad idea though, as long as I can do it my way, without the constraints of so called "democracy". I recently bought a old passenger boat with a friend that we thought of converting to a café. But I´m not sure we have the seating capacity to make it profitable. Maybe we´ll just have it as a leisure boat with the occasional party

In conclusion: life sucks and I don´t really know how to turn it around. It´s really hard to get a job if you haven´t had a job recently or are employed and want to change... And also if you´ve been somewhat of a seeker, jumping from one place to another. It´s absurd, I know. I think I´ll have to forge my CV so it looks like I have held down the same job for the last 10 years or so, that ought to give a sense of stability and trustworthyness Or maybe I´ll just say I´ve been in prison for the last 10 years, that might do the trick

Ah, what the hell. I´ve ranted long enough, this is probably the longest post I´ve ever written

Yeah, SSU. It's fun to open the paper (DN) in the morning nowadays. I'm pretty damn sure my sambo is one of those ghost members, asked for some infor for school years ago and we still get Frihet and other crap.

Part time unemployed myself. Good, solid education but working as a part time cleaner. Well, going to do some statistical work for a man at the commune that called today, but that'll just be a couple of days at most.

All the youth sections are cheating with their member stock. But SSU is the worst... It was bad even when I was a member. My grandmother was a support member for like three years against her will...

And FYI I think "sambo" means something completely different in english

College is free, but you can´t really live on the money you borrow from the state. Besides they´ve changed the way you pay back. If you don´t get a job in the 6 months after your exams you´re basically screwed finacially...

If you have money, there's no reason to hang around at home. Why not hang around at cafe's instead? Travel, do something.

Well, I try to get out as much as possible. But I have a lot of bills that have to be payed, so in the end there´s really not that much left to spend.

Well, I'll be looking at unemployment in a few months once I get my (probably equally useless) Journalism degree. The media job market in Västerbotten is hardly stellar...
