Its very clear that populations which have less access to guns have less gun deaths. We tightened our gun laws after the Port Arthur massacre and we haven't had a mass killing since. But -- and this is the important part -- the only purpose of a gun is to cause bodily harm. That is complete rubbish. Crime rates are far lower across the Western world than in the US, as are incarceration rates, where the US rate of jailing people compares with the Old Soviet Union. Think about that!
In many countries like Japan violent crime with firearms is almost non existent. Why? Because of gun control.
