I knew this one mormon woman from work. Easily the best person I have known. She never even cursed!.She had 4 kids, she was a sweet lady. it's funny, because I tried very hard to restrict my cussing around her. I wish I could stop cussing.

The only people who ever cared for me were religious people. everyone else treats me like I'm the worst scum of the earth.
I'm not religious and I never treated you like scum. I still consider you a friend.

I do have a problem with cursing to much though and I tend to drop f-bombs like it was napalm in Vietnam. I've had several friends comment on my potty mouth but I just can't seem to break this nasty habit. I blame the Army and years spent in the military.

This guy was a regular church member. Apparently something about a recent sermon set him off. I wonder if the church members will forgive him.

Oh, let's not make such generalizations. I've certainly encountered a few extremely strident athiests that go into the "freak" category. My brother was actually rather obnoxiously strident about it at times, but thankfully my sister-in-law seems to have mellowed him out (and she isn't religious, either).

I think the generalization he was referring to was that religious people were "more moral" than anyone else.

If you define morality by religious tenets, well then, yeah, but that's a big circular argument. If you define morality by the norms of society, I don't think religious people are any more "moral" than non-religious folk. In fact, it seems to me today's worst cases of immoral behavior are coming out of the religious segments of society (Catholic priests, anyone?)

What does relegion have to do with morality? Morals are instilled into you by your family and surroundings not just your church. Moral are visions of right and wrong. Ethics and morals are a phlisophy teaching not a relegious one.
