  • Swedish Police: No Fatties Allowed In

Apparently, a new security door has a scale to ensure that only 1 person is allowed through at a time. However, the scale thinks anyone over 105Kg must be 2 people trying to sneak in at once.
“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

Those weighing more than 230 pounds (105 kilograms) who try to pass through the entrance are greeted by a recorded voice telling them: "Stop! One at a time!"

If it's supposed to accept up to 160 kg, what purpose does it serve at all? Thats comfortably over twice my weight, and I'm not exactly small.

Weight is not a good way of regulating entry to one person at a time. How about a camera that tries to count the number of heads?

Once again the Americans are being discriminated against in European Communistland

Yes, but if an American expat were to become a Swedish Police Officer, discrimination would be possible.

I call myself fat, but I would qualify for the Swedish police force if this was the only criteria.

Anyway, police [insert gender neutral word here] are not supposed to be fat. They are supposed to run faster than the bad guys. Our police force don't shoot people if they don't threaten your life, they outrun them, wrestle them down and put hand cuffs on them.

Then you better gain 5 kg of fat so we can keep you out of the police HQ!

Right, 105kg does not necessarily mean fat. Doesn't even necessarily mean a huge beefcake with Rambo muscles. I have friends aroudn 90kg and 110kg, and none of them are fat or super muscular. They are in shape, and the one weighing 110kg, he is lean too. I don't know why he weighs so much though. He's 190cm tall, but still, quite lean. Some people do weigh that and not be fat or even THAT muscular.

Weight is certainly not an index to be measured if person is fat alone. Nor is the relation between weight and height, that's about the most stupid one. Only figure skaters go to normal category and ski jumpers. I mean, you can be totally normal built and be categorised fat, even if you are not carrying big muscles. How about just looking at the person and saying 'you are fat' or 'you are not fat', if that's what we need to find out?

And when it comes to police forces, I know people who are a bit overweight, but still are in better shape than some leaner people. They have better muscular shape, they have better cardio etc.

But Americans are fat, that's not a question.
