Guess im getting old i have never heard of the bands diss just mentioned. Have any of you guy heard of Kitty? my son wants me to let him go see these women. He also wanted me to let him goto ozz fest but that was a big not since no adult could go with him, is kitty worth the 25.00 ticket?

Slipknot is kind of lame. I saw some interviews with them, and man are they taking themselves seriously or what? I mean they ripped the whole mask thing from Kiss and and attach some crappy grinding trash to it. And then they act like they are some kind of avantgarde installation? They´re almost as bad as Marilyn Manson... ****ing posers But they seem to appeal to the kids.

I stumbled on Helloweens "Dark Ride" from 2000 and it was really good. Quite a surprise as they sucked for most of the 90´s. I would say that "Dark Ride" is one of the best Helloween albums out there. Easily compared with the greatness of "Keeper..." and "Walls of Jericho".

Mrs T, I´ve never heard of Kitty. I tried to Google, but I only got a lot of "Hello Kitty" and other Kittys. But if your son likes them I guess it´s worth 25 $

P.S. I'm the old one. Most of those bands I mentioned are 80's band . Mostly speed metal. some death metal and regular rock (queensryche) mixed in there. Sepultura is mostly 90's though. Dying Fetus is late 90's and 21st century. And I believe Lamb of God is as well.

Opeth sucks.

Check out Fantomas. Their second album had some absolutely jaw-dropping covers -- The Godfather, Rosemary's Baby, etc. Their latest, "Delirium Cordia", is a single track clocking in at 74 minutes. That should be enough for anyone. It's too much for me.

I dont know how old the girls are. I have to ask my son his friend knows the drummer, so hell be able to tell me. I was just wondering of the cost of the ticket was worth it. I forgot to add that merciful fate was a good band too the song melissa is one of ther best.

Thye've changed memebers a couple of times, I think that they're all over 18. The original lineup was better, their more recent stuff is ****.

Megadeth never really was too cool to me. It just sounded....dumb.

I think most metal nad music in general died in the eighties. I can't stand hair. I like Guns N Roses, but they aren't really hair though, while they do have some hair qualities.

What is actually considered heavy metal these days? Guns and roses were kind and motely crue like jp and metllica but that was in the late eighties and early nineties.

That's a difficult question to answer. Through MTV and similar channels we are flooded with pseudo-metal crap (also known as "nu-metal") that I don't really consider as metal at all. It takes more than an angry singer and a guitar to call it metal, IMO

To me, if the music "feels" like metal, it's metal. Very simple
