You said K.K is still there is glen there too and I know the drummer is new cause the old one died didnt he.
And if you ask me Tipton was a better guitar player then kk anyway.

The line-up is Rob Halford/KK Downing/Glenn Tipton/Ian Hill/Scott Travis. Basically the same line-up since 1980. Dave Holland left priest after "Ram it Down" since he couldn´t keep up with the new direction Priest was taking, ie he couldn´t drum fast enough.... And AFAIK he´s still alive

Dont know why I thought he died the whole band was halford and tipton any way downing was ok but tended to be longwinded so to speak (I mean his solos) at times

I don´t know who does which solos, but the solo in the end of "Beyond the realms of death" is sooo good.

between the two they switch at being the lead guitar player tipton is usually the rythem and kk the lead. But they have swithed on and off during different songs the lead always does the solo. Ill have to listen to the song again to tell who it is they have different styles
btw the cd i mentioned is metal works 73 to 93 if you dont have and your a fan its great.

Thanks, but I have every album (except Point of Entry and the Ripper ones since they are crap). So I´m pretty much covered in that department

Thats cool. I do believe that kk is doing the solo on beyond the realms of death. His solos are usually alot heavier then tiptons. Like for metallia I can tell you the hetfield is the rythym guitar player and doesnt do any of the solos Kirk is the one woh does all of them. But metallia sucks now. my fav song from JP is before the dawn.

Before the Dawn is also great. As is Run of the Mill. Priest is one of the few bands that can make hard rock ballads without it sounding cheesy...

                    anyone listen to Godflesh?

I kept meaning to get into them after hearing them on MTV years ago. Believe it or not MTV used to play cool lesser known ****. they are the reason I got into Sepultura and white zombie (mtv played them before they became popular because of beavis and butthead).

but I had never heard enough to purchase an album. well I finally got around to downloading a bunch of songs. I just download at random (this is usually my style), so I may be missing their best songs.

I can't say they are one of my favourites, but they have a certain sound I like alot. They make good background music for when I'm posting at poly.

                    • Fantomas largely just defies categorization entirely.
If I absolutely had to find a pigeonhole for them I'd probably choose "jazz metal", although that only really works for the first two studio albums.

I'm really rather looking forward to hearing the next one they have coming out.
