I know it's an old album, but I'm really enjoying "Powertrip" from Monster Magnet. Are the other albums as good?

I'm probably too old school for this thread. I really don't hang out with my old metalhead friends anymore, so it's hard to find out about new music.
Though I listen to the metal station on Cox cables music channel. They play some pretty cool ****.
They play Mastadon, they are pretty cool. And Cradle of Filth. I like them now.
I'm mostly old school though. Sepultura, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, old Dio, Ozzy, Pantera, Prong, Primus, Metal Church (first 2 albums mainly), Savatage, Queensryche, and many others.
New stuff I like is System of a Down of course. And Tool.
Dying Fetus isn't too bad. And Lamb of god.

Namaste, I know Schaffer has talked about another D & W album. But nothing happens. It´s been five years since the release of the only album, hence my "one off" remark...

On a side note, Saint Vitus is awesome!

Diss, the metalheads do indeed seem to be either missing or uninterested in discussion...But check out the band I mentioned for some quality metal
bipolarbear, Maiden is pretty uninteresting nowadays. When Bruce returned I expected more. But OTOH, cudos to them for trying to evolve! It´s very easy to just keep hammering out the same old generic metal. Too bad it isn´t that interesting... The same goes for Metallica.
Rammstein remain my favourites in the industrial metal genre. "Reise, Reise" and "Mutter" was truly a way to reinvent the sound they created on the first two albums. And they are amazing on stage!
I'll try those songs you mentioned. monocrhomoatic stains, treason wall

I think it´s amazing that Metal as a genre is so sustainable. Nothing can kill it, not punk, not grunge and certainly not the crap that you can hear on MTV and every radio station... The fact that it´s constantly evolving, sprouting sub-genres left and right and generally thriving is a good sign of quality. It´s constantly gaining new supporters while keeping quite a few of the old ones. There´s something in Metal that appeals to many people.
The Sweden Rock Festival gathers tens of thousands every summer. Not bad for a festival with only one genre of musicOld warhorses like Nazareth, Magnum and Sammy Hagar meets new acts like Crucified Barbara and everything in between.
