The thing is, even if its looking amazing, thats not the same as actually being an amazing film. Special effects are over rated imho, and are not the single most important part of a good film.
Star Wars lost its ability to tell a good story with episode1, and continued its slide in episode2. I dont have much faith that the minor miricle that is needed will make episode3 that different.

Its a shame but George Lucas lost me, a total star wars fan, and even a real Jesus would have a hard time convincing me that episode3 is likely to be much of a recovery to where the series started over 20 years ago.

I share your views concerning the first two films, and I have little expectation for the third. But with a little imagination, it is possible to filter out the disjointed feel of the films, to envision a splendor that the films might have been, if only Lucas had died of a brain tumor in the early 90s.

Okay, it takes an incredible amount of imagination to filter out Jar Jar Binks.

The special edition imposters make my bile boil.

Why? Frankly this is the perhaps the silliest view I've seen people take. It's utterly absurd, yet many follow it.

Good... story? Fun story, nice mythological stereotypes, but nothing that great or original on the story theme. It was a rehash of epics and myths. Fun stuff, but no Shakespeare.

Those don't look like Victory-class Star Destroyers to me. Does Lucas have some bent on destorying the continuity of his universe.

Okay, I know the story now. Don't have to pay that bastard any money.

Why do I think this is an idle threat . $10 says most people who see this will be more psyched for the movie!

I agree in general, but StarWars is IMO only cool because of its FX. The episodes, including the original three, were never really good movies. Still I plan to see Ep III.....

Eh, it looks pretty interesting. And I'll go see it, but mostly because I like to see big, "event" movies in the theater as opposed to TV.
