    Stick to biology.

The new trains they got in Calgary do the same thing...they get energy back while breaking. The whole train grid in Calgary is powered by wind-power too, BTW.

My ass, I've been to LA during rushhour.

        You're lucky to push 10, not 130.
ah, but im in san diego, where you can have a highway full of cars, all doing 130+ you get that in LA too on occasion, but usually not since there are lots of junctions and offramps.

From what I hear you're a rather crap driver.
My car is powerful enough for it's requirements. And my driving is fine thankyou. And what in particular is remarkable about the way you drive?

What's a "good" driver, anyway? It's not like we participate in some sort of race or endurance test... the only way to measure is how much do endanger or trouble all other traffic.

                  I'm aggressive.

Can't stand gutless cars. I drive at least 140km/h when I can on the highways...

He's been in one very lame accident that was his fault...not a good driver.

And your point? So do I...

20-30mpg is just not an impressive fuel economy...either you aren't very efficient in your style of driving (too heavy on the gas, automatic) or your car is a fuelguzzler...mine does about 40mpg...

Hell, the 1974 VW I owned when I was 16 got 30 mpg and the 1978 VW Rabbit diesel my parents gave me after I crashed the Bug got 50 mpg. Currently I own two cars a 1995 Ford Probe 2.5L which gets around 25 mpg mixed driving and a 1998 Toyota Camery V6 which get about the same.

I'd love to sell them both and get a Honda S2000 or a BMW Z4 but I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

And what do you know about the circumstances of the accident? F**k all, that is precisely how much...

The brakes drive a flywheel that generates electricity to charge the battery. Or something similar. Some (maybe most) normal cars store braking energy in a flywheel too, or a pneumatic system. Saves energy.

The general concept is that a motor and a generator are the same thing, the only difference is which end is the input and which the output.
