POlice can't win ever-- If they beat him down or shot him there would be those that would say that that was unnecessary force.

It actually happened in Canada where a guy rushed the police with an ax and was shot dead. The police came under a fair bit of criticism for not "avoiding the altercation".

actually I think police could do more to avoid these situations.

Police tend to "provoke" people by confronting them. If the guy is by himself, he is no threat to anyone. Just leave him alone, he'll calm down. I can understand if there is family or hostages near him, then you have to confront him.

I saw the video. It's freakin' hilarious!
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

Well, I saw the video on Fox News. But, I am sure you can find the video on the internet somewhere. The internet has everything.
