Why would Ramo post such an obvious lie?

On the other hand, Bush will have millions vouching for him. Do good deeds, even if done with ulterior motives, negate the voices of dissent? Does making the trains run on time absolve one for their mis-deeds?

I don't believe it is proper to punish people for using drugs.

By repenting of an action and changing your ways, I believe, your slate is wiped clean. In the case of a former gangster who turned his life around and later became a judge, his actions are in his past.

Punishing offenders is a nessecary function for society to be stable, and can be done by the legitimate authorities. In fact, even if someone is secretly commititng an offense, while in the position of holding legal authority he is still commited to punish them, although he is also committed to cease offending.

To, condemn a person is another matter entirely. To judge an offender as a bad or low quality person is something we should never do, whether we commited the offense or not.

They're poor enough to be incarcerated for their drug use and not properly treated, so worthless.

The fact that you consider Bush personally culpable for the imprisonment of people based on drug laws that predate Bush's presidency and will exist after his term is over is a bit laughable, isn't it?

Yes, the President having the bully pulpit over new legislation and the ability to offer pardons, what a laughable idea!

In a hypothetical situation where a judge got to impose a sentence on himself for a crime he comitted, he would be comitted to punishing himself.

But can we really diagnose his repentance? Truthfully, believe him when he pleads, "I am repentant!"

We all believe the same thing, really. Forgive and forget. The point upon which everyone disagrees is if the criminal is really worthy of forgiveness.

But how can this person jail others for doing what he did? It doesn't matter if he has repented and changed, when Jesus said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone", he didn't tell them to go and change their ways before punishing the adulteress. Even Jesus refused to punish the woman and if anyone was "qualified", he was...

Jesus' way of removing specks was far different than how most Christians do it today; for example, turn the other cheek does not = jail the SOB who smacked you.

I'm sorry if I'm not disparaging recently deceased people as "nothing" because they used drugs. I'm not as reasonable or honest as you.
