Well, just qualifying is not too hard. You don't even need to find all of the nav points. I can keep a pace count well and use a compass so don't really mess up there. And I can move fairly quickly. I'm just saying I won't really excel.

Yeah...it's difficult. You get used to them for a while. For a lot of acronyms, I had no idea what they stood for before I knew what they were in reference to.

              Apoc

I got an 98 on the ASVAB as well. I had an option of being a Nuke, but, having met a few nukes before (and the Diego Polymeet with Dissident confirmed it ) I had no real desire to become a crackpot who never sees the light of day.

So, I'm a CTM...Cryptologic Technician Maintenance. Basically, I work with signals collection and I repair said equipment. I'm going to cross rate to IS (Intelligence Specialist) though.

And you have a TS? Pff....any schmoe can get a TS. Come back when you got a TS/SCI

              CTM3 Lonestar

(That's "Petty Officer" to you, Private)
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

I took the nuke test....twice. Passed it with identical scores both times. But, I actually wanted to see the sun once in a while.

                ACK!

Bah, you gay sailor boys floating in your funny boats. The Army is where the action is plus you get to really learn a culture instead of just popping around from port to port.

Ozzy, you think the acronyms are bad in this thread. Try reading or writing military reports. Page after page of acronyms which make perfect sense to people who know what the acronyms mean but don't even sound like English to everyone else.

Don't you got some desert to wander? And aren't you suppose to be doing something, like getting shot at by strangers that don't drink alcohol and don't eat pork?

This week's Onion's "Project Manager leaves behind PowerPoint presentation explaining suicide" is so earie, onsidering I've banged out more of those damn things then I thought possible. I wonder what Halsey would have done with Powerpoint.

                        I'm a PFC, not a Private

One guy I was kinda doing a lot of things at the same time with also got a 98 and was going navy. He was offered nuke but he wanted to be a SEAL.

Anyway, this is only for about 2 years anyway...then I'll commission.

                            PFC means Private First Class.

I know...but you usually abreviate it for E3s and say Private for the others.

Nah... I'm a PFC now. Private F***ing Civilian. My times done and gone.

Congrats, BTW. And good luck. Joining the military was one of the best choices I have ever made as an adult.
