Lots of panties got twisted up by this I see.
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

That's the reason it's unwise to go after them because of what AQ/Talibans did.

The obvious conclusion after 9/11 was that "some Arabs are pissed off". The solution to the problem is not to piss off more Arabs.

we were discussing an American Marine general. He didnt go after Arabs in general. The ones he expressed joy at going after, the ones who want to kill me and you, are the ones from AQ/Taliban.

It's become apparent that many Arabs enjoy being pissed off over one thing or another. Except at their own goverments.

And I went up there, I said, "Shrink, I want to kill. I mean, I wanna, I wanna kill. Kill. I wanna, I wanna see, I wanna see blood and gore and guts and veins in my teeth. Eat dead burnt bodies. I mean kill, Kill, KILL, KILL." And I started jumpin up and down yelling, "KILL, KILL," and he started jumpin up and down with me and we was both jumping up and down yelling, "KILL, KILL." And the sargent came over, pinned a medal on me, sent me down the hall, said, "You're our boy."

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. But he ENJOYED killing other people. Who cares who they were affiliated with. Enjoyment at killing others isn't what most psychiatrists would consider normal mental health.

er, you might want to go reread the exchange between me and ollie to see how it was appropriate in context. I was NOT responding to your statement re mental health, an area Im not informed enough to comment on.

That's why they're in the Marines and not in normal society. Honestly, our jails and mental facilities are overflowing as it is. We might as well get some work out of these people for doing what they enjoy doing.

Yes, taking enjoyment from the death of other humans is a sign of serious imbalances in one's world perspective.

What we have here (on poly and the Marines) are clearly people who have thoroughly dehumanized the people they're fighting against. And thats sad, no wonder the war has been going so poorly What separates a Marine who likes to kill from a terrorist?

The fact the Marine follows the rules of war. Toss me another softball question.
